As a first-generation college student and daughter of immigrants, I learned to navigate the hidden curriculum of higher education by aligning my choices with my core values and sense of self. During my doctoral journey, I began to question the narrow narrative that defined success solely as a tenured professorship. Intuitively, I leaned into the Designing Your Life (DYL) framework—reflecting on what energized or drained me, exploring multiple career paths, clarifying my values, and connecting with professionals who had forged diverse paths with similar training.
This process led me to a life and career that feel deeply aligned. Today, I help others do the same: tap into their agency, gain clarity, and design fulfilling paths forward.
As a scholar of critical race theory and gender studies, I bring a systems lens to every conversation—honoring both the individual and the broader context they must navigate. Let’s re(design) a future rooted in your values, your power, and the ripple effect you’re meant to create.
