At 22, I introduced a groundbreaking proposal at Toronto City Hall and became one of the select few chosen for the city’s extremely competitive political protégé program.
At 23, I was political lobbying in New York City, advocating for incarcerated individuals and tenants.
At 24, I started my international advocacy, working at United Nations after I graduated from Columbia.
At 25, I founded the first Chinese-speaking therapist directory in Canadian history.
At 25, I established the Yu Jia Zhu Scholarship at the University of Toronto during the COVID-19 pandemic to support international students from China, my birthplace.
