I Decided I Would Never Come Back to Social Media…
…until I saw what the team proposed.
Listen, I’m 72 and enjoy my life without social media. When we finished writing our new book How to Live a Meaningful Life, I had no plans to join it.
Then I sat down with Bill and our new team of young life designers to discuss how we could share the messages of our book with as many people as possible.
To my surprise, the team didn’t propose a “viral” strategy.
They talked about depth.
They talked about intention over attention.
They talked about making the feed sacred again.
They got what the new book is about.
And they got me into flow about social media.
Here’s what we’ve learned after 20 years of teaching life design: the most profound moments aren’t always the most photogenic ones.
They’re the Monday morning when you notice how light falls through your kitchen window.
The conversation with a stranger that shifts your perspective.
The split second when you see your child — really see them — instead of just managing them.
These aren’t selfies. Those are transactions.
These are “lyfies” — moments worth living, worth sharing, worth sparking something in someone else’s soul.
So we decided to launch a new visual conversation.
Starting November 6th, we as the Fully Alive team will make our LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok the first public classroom for How to Live a Meaningful Life teachings.
You’ll get:
- Early access to Wonder Glasses practices months before the book releases
- Behind-the-scenes insights from 20+ years of Stanford life design teaching
- Community-generated Moments of Meaning showing these teachings in action
- Real-time philosophy that travels with you long after the scroll ends
This isn’t a campaign. It’s a practice ground for designing a meaningful world together.
So before you open the apps:
Put on your Wonder Glasses.
Share what moved you — not what might get likes.
Ask, “What did I notice today?”
We’re not chasing clicks.
We’re beta-testing meaning — one moment at a time.
