For the past thirty-seven years, I have held leadership, board, and consulting positions with nonprofit organizations devoted to improving the health and wellbeing of the most vulnerable families in Los Angeles County.

Early in my career, I founded Clinica Para Las Americas, a community health center that provided comprehensive care to families who otherwise could not access much needed care. Subsequently, I served as the Associate Director of the Venice Family Clinic, where I oversaw several prevention programs, including an Early Head Start program. I helped create the Westside Infant-Family Network (WIN) to address the mental healthcare needs of young children. I presently serve on WIN’s board of directors.

In 2012, I became a Professional Certified Coach and launched my own private coaching practice to empower women to make choices to lead them to happier, more fulfilling personal and professional lives.

I have a BA in Child Psychology from Lewis & Clark College and a Master’s in Public Health from UCLA. I am originally from Costa Rica, have been married to my husband for 40 years, and together we have a daughter.
