Melanie is the Director of Career Communities and Coaching at Denison University. With a strong focus on design thinking and creativity, Melanie leads innovative approaches to empower today’s college students and meet the ever-changing expectations of employers. Her own journey as a first-generation college student has profoundly influenced her approach, inspiring her to guide fellow first-generation students in building and designing lives they might have never dreamed possible. Before working in Higher Education, Melanie worked in the non-profit sector, helping people build joy and meaning in their lives through engagement in high-impact volunteer experiences. In her spare time, she is a cookie artist, turning simple ingredients into delectable works of art, and a Girl Scout leader, shaping future leaders with every adventure.
