Rachel Bishop is a certified executive coach and practicing physician at Johns Hopkins University, where she created and runs a leadership coaching program. She helps leaders in industry, government, and medicine define and achieve their potential. Her professional and academic background include military service and entrepreneurship. With 21 years of leadership experience in the US Army and Public Health Service, Rachel led teams on high-stakes missions in the US, South America, Asia, Europe, and Africa. Rachel believes that just as we use design-thinking to optimize products and processes, we can methodically explore our own priorities, goals, and blind-spots, and design our way to a life with purpose that aligns with our values and interests. Her private coaching practice focuses on late-career explorations and life transitions. She co-founded a retreat-based life-design company, and is a member of Third Half Advisors, helping professionals who are leaving demanding careers design their next chapters. When not working, you’ll find Rachel on trail runs with her dogs, reading, or designing her yet-to-be-constructed tiny house in the Adirondacks. She is married to a toolbelt-wearing writer from the Midwest. Their blended family includes two girls, two boys, and two dogs.
