I specialize in helping individuals aged 50+ to create uniquely fulfilling “encore careers.” Such career transitions often seek a better balance of sustained income, personal fulfillment, and meaningful social impact. My approach begins with assisting clients to discover their career “true north” and identify opportunities that resonate with their passions, strengths, and stage of life. My own journey started with an MBA from the Harvard Business School, leading to a diverse career spanning international banking, management consulting, entrepreneurship, and C-Suite roles in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. However, rather than retiring, I wished to dedicate the next stage of my life to helping others find and realize their own “impossible” dreams. The result: I’m now living my dream – and love helping others find and live their own!

As a service designer and creative strategist, I have connected brands and services to their deep human parts for the last 15 years. My career in the creative field made me realize how much someone’s life can benefit from design thinking and building up resilience towards uncertainty. Getting to a solution or a design is essential, but the journey of “how to get there” holds the true transformative power. As a coach, I realized the importance of having a creative lens for life. I am excited to bring the DYL approach to people during a significant change and feeling lost, to inspire them with this powerful toolkit, and to encourage them to harvest their imagination. Seeing others unlock their creative abilities and co-create with them brings me true joy. I love cheering my clients along as they craft their unique futures forward.

For as long as I can remember, seeing people feel or act “stuck” has always crushed me. Whether it is seeing someone stuck in their life or their career — languishing and lost — I can’t handle it. For some reason, I’ve always believed in options. I’ve sided (more often than not) optimism. I have trusted in the power of ideas paired with hard work. I continue to believe that people can grow to be better versions of themselves. These are core beliefs. My strong sense of curiosity initially led me to journalism and then to a now 30-year career as a learning designer. Today, I lead a team of learning designers at McKinsey & Co. I am a frequent facilitator. I am a certified coach through the Hudson Institute of Coaching. Previously, I have worked at Deloitte in both their tax and consulting groups. I have run my own small learning consulting firm. I also worked at Jellyvision in Chicago and post-college, I worked for several daily newspapers.

Julie is a dedicated coach who is passionate about supporting clients in empowering themselves to feel strong and powerful in both their minds and bodies. With a unique approach that combines personal growth and wellness coaching, goal setting, and habit building.
I want to support people in shaping their (professional) lives so that they can realise their potential and live a version of their best possible life. After a decade of creative work at university, TV stations and TV production companies, I trained in analytical group work at GAG in Munich from 2006-08. This was followed by further training in systemic coaching, communication, positive psychology and finally certification as a Designing your life coach in 2022. In my interactions with many teams and individuals in profit and non-profit organisations, the defining theme is constant change. Everything is in motion. Everything is in upheaval. Accelerated by AI. The question of identity and personal change has rarely been as fundamental as it is today. It’s about shaping change yourself in order to make the most of it. I invite you to start by reflecting on your skills and beliefs, getting to know your values and driving forces. From this realisation, we can then work together to create your new, contemporary (professional) future.
Understanding, embracing, and leveraging your unique personality superpowers, along with a strategic plan can help shift your mindset and pave the way to create synergy in working teams and/or more fulfilling lifestyle. It’s about pivoting with a purposeful plan. I’ve pivoted a number of times throughout my career and life, and learned a lot along the way. As a personality type junkie (Certified MBTI® Practitioner), strategist x project manager (PMP®), I created The Grayprint™ to help others pivot with confidence using a strategic plan, powered by personality and interests.
My coaching practice combines my engineering, product design and life coaching background. With 16 years experience as a Silicon Valley leader and my Life Designing training, I support my clients to realize the life they desire. I am Colombian and I live in CA.
My passion is to inspire, encourage and help people to realize their full potential, to be satisfied professionally and personally with clarity and leadership in the spirit of self-leadership. To live rather than be lived. I firmly believe that there is something better in every person and every organization. I work with clients who are wondering what’s next and want to figure out what’s holding them back, and with organizations and schools to create a more connected, engaged, and productive culture. Designing Your Life brings both worlds together for me, personal coaching with the mindset and principles of Design Thinking for your own life and work design. Prior to becoming a professional coach (ICF ACC), I was an enterprise Design Thinking coach with 26 years of marketing and business development experience in a Fortune 500 IT company.
I spent 15+ years in leadership roles, growing teams within organizations. In 2008, I shifted into coaching professionally to focus on the part of the work I loved the most. Since then, I have worked one-on-one with more than 500 individual clients to clarify values, increase capacity, improve skills, and become more effective. In addition to my coaching training and Designing Your Life tools, I utilize my master’s degree in conflict resolution, mindfulness training, and positive psychology methods to tailor my approach based on the client’s specific needs. I meet clients where they are, help them conceptualize where they want to go and create a tangible path with specific steps to meet their goals. Through deep listening and curious inquiry, I offer practical support and consistent accountability. I pair insight with action to create measurable change. Clients I work with have an intentional space to reflect and a thought partner available to support and guide the process. I tend to have a sweet spot for people in transition, whether it is a job that’s no longer working, a change in the family, or a personal loss, I find my approach to be particularly helpful for those leaving something behind and walking toward a new future.
I help creative professionals negotiating a turning point in their career and life to design their next life their way. They crave something else, but don’t quite know how to go about finding it, or what their options are. All your life you’ve faced and met the expectations of others. Finally, space opens up, external pressures lessen, and you glimpse the opportunity to live for yourself. But what does that mean for you today? I’ve learned that your purpose and priorities take different forms as you evolve. Fulfilment at 25 is not the same as fulfilment at 35 or 55. I believe that to live a creative life, you just need to listen to that small voice inside you saying “there must be something else” and take action. The search for that “something else” has motivated me to become a certified DESIGNING YOUR LIFE coach and life transition coach. Work with me and you’ll come away with a renewed self -belief, a broader sense of your possibilities at this point, and clarity as to what you really want next in life and how to make it work, so you can feel fulfilled and sure of your purpose at last.
